Researchers show that climate change should be considered in developing sustainable tourism development. The findings of the article show that stakeholders agree that enhancing tourism sustainability improves competitiveness and attractiveness. The findings indicate that policymakers, destination marketers and tourism enterprises should focus on the sustainability of the tourism sector. It shows the decisions that various stakeholders should take to improve sustainability. The article is effective in presenting the perspectives of various stakeholders in Italy on competitiveness and barriers to sustainability. The article is useful in my research work since it presents the barriers to sustainability in tourism development which I was not aware of. I will build a strong argument regarding the barriers and how they can be eliminated to enhance the quality of sustainable tourism development.

The methodology of the study was content analysis that focused on 132 articles drawn from 47 journals between 1993 and 2013. The article presents ideas about sustainable tourism development by indicating the importance of policymaking, market research, planning, and environment crisis management. The key findings indicate that state-wide approach and dynamic framework is required to address the challenges of environmental conservation to spur sustainable tourism. The article concludes that tourism sustainability requires multi-dimensional decisions and policy-making to deal with issues affecting it. It also adds that the achievement of sustainable tourism practices requires the input of various stakeholders. The article has a major weakness since it presents local situations whereas in future the issue of sustainable tourism will become a trans-national issue. Therefore, the research findings cannot be generalized. However, they are useful in providing a perspective of the available research and their findings. The article is useful to my research work since it describes a detailed literature review that will add value to my research since it covers research from 1993 to 2013. The research work thus helps me to build a strong argument about the need for sustainable tourism practices.

I will expound my research from the past, present to the future to show the results of sustainable tourism in different periods.

The article takes the approach of comparing the perspectives of the residents living around the tourist sites. Additionally, it compares the opinions of the tourists who visit the protected area. The comparison of the perspectives is for two tourist sites in Nepal including Chitwan National Park as well as Annapurna Conservation Area. The study involved measuring the tourism subscales including positive and negative social, ecological and economic impacts. The methodology of the study involved data collection using the survey method. The data collection was carried out among 450 tourists and 415 residents in Annapurna and Chitwan. The data analysis of the study involved multigroup confirmatory factor analyses of the two areas under study. The literature of the study proved that researchers have varying findings regarding the advantages and negative impacts of tourism activities in protected areas. The varying opinions were also evident among the residents living around the protected areas and tourists. The findings of the article indicate that due to the varying opinions of the tourists and residents it was difficult to achieve significant and sustainable tourism development. The reason was due to the differences in perspectives between the two main stakeholders which include tourists and residents. The article concludes that tourism development has a significant impact on sustainability outcomes, especially in protected areas. The article provided an honest evaluation of the varying opinions of the two involved stakeholders using methodological and practical approaches. I found the article important to my research work since it shows the varying opinions of two groups in two protected areas in Nepal. I will utilize varying opinions while shaping my opinions and research on sustainable tourism development.

Sustainability practices are crucial for businesses that want to emerge competitive and profitable in the current market and in the future. The tourism sector is also required to adopt sustainable practices for the purposes of survival of the business in various regions across the world. The call to sustainability practices is a strategic opportunity that the tourism sector should adopt to create value. The purpose of the article is to present the findings of a research carried out in guest houses in Eden district municipality. The focus of the article was the advantages of implementing sustainable tourism approaches. The methodology of the article involved a questionnaire method that was used in collecting data. A qualitative method was also used in the process of analyzing the data. The data was collected from 128 guests from the Eden District Municipality database. The perspectives of the tourists and hotel owners regarding sustainable tourism practices in the selected tourist sites were not related to economic benefits. The findings of the study show that the guest houses are eager to implement sustainable tourist practices. For example, 56.3 percent of respondents indicated that they embrace sustainable practices for the purposes of protecting the environment. The study concludes that there is a positive trend in the sustainability of tourism practices by accommodation providers. The article has successfully identified the reasons why sustainable tourism practices are adopted which will be important in my research work. The findings are important to me since they help me in building a strong argument regarding sustainable tourism practices. I also provide a comprehensive literature review which I did not know in the past about the need for sustainable tourism development for the purposes of a better world in future.
