Project Requirements:
A. Select an organization or organizational situation . This organization may not be the organization in which you, a family member, or a close friend are employed. will provide assistance in selection of your organization in class and individually. Options and ideas for selecting an organization:
• An organization “in the news” nationally, internationally, or locally
• An organization you admire or have special interest in.
• An organization or leader(s) of an organization that is having organizational difficulties
• An organization that has recently experienced a merger or acquisition or major OD or leadership challenge situation
B. Research the organization’s or OD/leadership situation’s development
Research the company’s organizational history, or the background of the organizational situation, to include these possible topics (based on the information you mine about the entity): organizational/situation origins, organizational type/structure, history of organizational development and org performance, organizational culture, and organizational leaders/leadership over time. Your information should be drawn from a variety of sources: books published about the organization (if available), internet or other publicly available sources, academic research sources (if available),

C. Synthesize the organization’s developmental or leadership decision situation phenomena and realities
Using academic theories and concepts from org development and from other courses in your MOL program, identify and describe aspects of the organization’s current development or situational challenge. This could include the organization’s culture, strengths and weaknesses, structure and processes, life cycle stages, strategic direction, organizational response to change and transformation situation/ current organizational development challenges. You may choose to provide a broad overview, or you may elect to focus in-depth on key aspects, situations, or topics. Use terminology and explanations drawn from your graduate courses and your own academic reading and writing in your graduate studies to describe and interpret the organization’s developmental phenomena and realities
D. Provide recommendations and a plan of action
Analyze and evaluate the organization’s developmental needs over the next 3-5 years OR the organizational leaders’ response to the challenge or situation you selected. Provide a narrative, using OD practitioner and leadership-based explanations. Provide a recommended Organizational Development approach or project for the organization’s development for the coming 24 months. Expand on and clearly describe these recommendations, using theory-based methods (cited from textbooks and expert topics), yet providing clear and practical explanations that organizational leaders can understand. Make a compelling argument for adoption of these recommendations. Provide a detailed action/implementation plan with detailed action items and timelines for OD practitioner and org leaders to achieve organizational evolution, change, or transformation. This document should include some graphic depictions, such as charts and tables.
