Resume Preparation
I believe that the preparation of resume requires proper understanding of the job description and job analysis. According to Fussell (2016: 2024 – Do my homework – Help write my assignment online), the article explains that it is critical to improving the design and templates for the resumes. One of the ways is to use good columns to maximize the spaces. For example, it is recommendable to split the resume layout into two areas with a column moving from the left to the right side (Design Resume & Portfolio Tips, n.d). In my opinion, I think that using a grid structure for the resume layout including visual dividers and columns would enhance the presentation of the resume. The structure will help the readers in referring to the specific details of information during interviews (Free Resume Guide, 2017). Such a structure would also improve the visual display of the resume which is important for creating a first impression.
In terms of content, most of the online tutorial sources recommend that it is critical to keep the content short and relevant. It would include editing out irrelevant qualifications and details such as unnecessary roles and previous job positions. The highlighting of the most relevant and important information about myself would be useful (How to write a resume, 2017). According to strategic-staffing.com, some of the serious mistakes people could make include forgetting to mention the employers, the failure to use keywords, failing to proofread, and lying.
I found it useful that the article by strategic.staffing.com identified the mistakes identified as they often undermine the credibility of the information presented in the resume. The identified ideas for improving the preparation of resume includes starting with recent job positions, writing not more than 2 pages, the identification of the most significant skills and qualifications, the recognition model, and the so what approach. Based on Visualcv.com, it is necessary to develop resume for every job application. It usually helps to design each resume to match the provided job description. It also helps in the optimization of the resume keywords within the applicant tracking systems. Among the online tutorials, none of them was discussing my profession. However, all the online tutorials were credible.
