Hello class, my name is Laura Alonso, I have been working as RN at Digestive Medicine about three years. I never go through my mind to become a nurse, however, when I get to the United States, I realized that a great opportunity, courage, and the great field that nursing has here. Becoming a nurse practitioner will not only better my skills in the field every day, but also give me better comprehension of the specialty through daily practice. One motivation for becoming a health care professional has always been my passion for helping others. Saving lives is one of the things I might get to do with this job, maybe even daily, and it would make me feel fulfilled that after all the hard work I was able to make someone stay in this world for a little or a while longer. My name is Seth Lesperance. I am from Haiti and currently living in West Palm Beach Florida. I am a graduated Physician from the Universidad Autonoma de Centro America (San Jose – Costa Rica) and I have five years training in GI surgery. I worked in Haiti few years and moved to USA. I am a Registered Nurse with a Master Degree in education. I am working as an Emergency Room Nurse at JFK Medical Center (Atlantis).
Helping my community is my passion. For the past few years, I have been participating with the Blessing Wave in medical mission to Haiti, three times a year by performing some minor surgeries as hernia repair, hydrocele and more. I am also enjoying teaching in nursing school, playing tennis with my daughter.
Completing the program is my short term goal then getting to the DNP program. I want to be able to provide efficient care to my patient with skills and knowledge I will learn from the program.
