I know no one has my voice or looks like me, what I am looking for is someone to make the slides for me and give me all of the talking points that I will have for my presentation.

You have been chosen from the Coalition to Improve Sidewalk Health (a made-up organization) to speak before Congress regarding an initiative developed to improve the sidewalks in their community. This initiative could include various elements such as improving healthy walking initiatives, safe walking routes to school, issuing whistles to kids, buddy program, etc.

Using any screencast program, you must create a presentation of your case. Remember, you are advocating for improved sidewalks – which could come in the form of funding for improvements, resources for design, policies to require improved sidewalk conditions, and/or any other element required to improve the sidewalks in your community. You are an advocate seeking the attention of Congress. You are limited to a maximum of three minutes to present your case in a minimum of four slides. You will be cut off after that time. In this class, you will not be graded for any portion of your work if you exceed three minutes.

In your presentation, keep all of the health literacy skills in mind when advocating for your cause: tone, numeracy, language, etc. Do not assume because they are Congress that they understand health lingo (which is part of health literacy).

Post your screencast link in the discussion board by Day 3.

Guided Response: Imagine that you are a congressman listening to your classmates’ presentation. Explain your initial reaction, and then examine the elements of health literacy that were or were not present in their advocacy speech. Explain what you would add or remove to strengthen their argument. Respond to at least two classmates.

I know no one has my voice or looks like me, what I am looking for is someone to make the slides for me and give me all of the talking points that I will have for my presentation.
