Girl Child Empowerment
It is duly noted that the huge gap between the boy child and girl child has been in existence for decades (“Decades before they choose a career, girls think being ‘really, really smart’ is for boys”, 2017). According to history, in the old centuries, men did all the hard work of hunting and protecting the family whereas women simply did the gathering of fruits. This notion is in existence up to date, where today’s women and girls are subjected to simple chores and careers. This paper, on the other hand, entails a discussion on my goals that aim to empower the girl child and overturn the existing notion of girl child inferiority.
To begin with, I will be the role model of perusing some of the boy child based course and further attain a Ph.D. in it. One of the course will be Electronic Engineering. This is one of the courses that creates a barrier between men and women. Theoretically, the notion states that it is a hard course full of calculations and requires a lot of manpower to accomplish the studies, and men have more chances in handling it. In addition to that, the course is expensive and with the normal routine of life, women are subjected to give birth and take care of the family hence education investment on this course is limited. Either way, I will prove all this wrong by passing all the test and get to the higher levels of Ph.D. in this particular course. With these achievements, I believe it will have an impact on the interested girls who have the same passion but lacked an idol to look up to.
The other course will be a Ph.D. on Homeland Security. This course also involves intelligence and hard work on field exercises, which are mainly prioritized to the boy child. Again, I stand strong to prove these beliefs wrong since I believe that the girl child can as well handle the education and workouts. What really lacks is the courage of women in this field, but I believe there are many who would like to join up. My success in this course will most likely empower a few as they look up to me.
In addition to my studies, I look forward to economically enable the interested girl child in whatsoever Stem field they prefer. It should be noted that not only the Homeland Security job and electrical engineering limits the girl child. On economy empowerment, I shall personally fight for the establishment of programs for women in the society by confronting our leaders to allow the programs. Moreover to that, I will personally fund a girl child who has struggled economically but has the heart for career pursuing. If the funds will not be enough, I will hold numerous campaigns for girl-child empowerment to generate the funds.
Lastly but not least, after my careers completion, I look forward to holding numerous seminars for the girl child and advise them on ways of handling personal goals. My belief is that with the proof of Ph.D. certificates, will highly attract self-esteem on them. Additionally, when employed in my career jobs, will highly advocate for them to conduct more opportunity for the girl child to ensure job market is available.
In conclusion, my goals in empowering the girl child include; high career achievements in Engineering and Homeland security, economic empowerment and guidance supply for the girl child. (“Girls’ and Women’s Empowerment | United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization”, 2017) The most important of all is being an example to the girl child, which is also among my main objective.
