Discussion 1-3 Language is important while discussing the canon because it helps to engage in in-depth theological discussion about the canons. The lack of proper command of language limits the ability of people to engage in the ideas in the cannon and integrating their past understanding to the ideologies promoted by the cannons (Collins, 2016: 2024 – Do my homework – Help write my assignment online). l believe that we use the Hebrew Bible rather than the Tanakh in this course because it is universal and includes additional scriptures than the Old Testament. lt includes additional scriptures to the Tanakh. Most learners would be unable to understand the scriptures in the Tanakh and thus, the Hebrew Bible is the best option for the learners. There are multiple canons because the diverse Christian groups have diverse biblical canons (Lambert, 2016: 2024 – Do my homework – Help write my assignment online). ln most instances, the canons can be shown by the physical bibles they are carrying.
Thus, there cannot be a single canon for all Christians around the world. Genesis has two different creation stories as a way of showing how God valued human beings. Chapter one of genesis states that God created plants, followed by animals and lastly, a man and woman (Robin, 2017).

The different stories reflect on the order of creation to show that God valued the human beings. The myths from the ancient Mesopotamia had a significant influence in the creation and shaping the flood stories explained in Genesis (Albrektson, 2016: 2024 – Do my homework – Help write my assignment online). The ancient Mesopotamia had their beliefs how waters came to be and most of this stories are reflected in the creation and flood stories. The ancient Near eastern context is vital in the studying of the Hebrew bible because the texts that later formed the bible were created by the scribes (Lyons, 2017).
Very few individuals were literate to create the texts of the Hebrew bible and they came from ancient Near East.
