Data integration between collection and business analysis is important to success in an organization because the combination of data from different sources provides a full picture. An organization is a group of different departments and areas, which generate and consume different data. To get an overall picture of how strategic initiatives are working it’s necessary to look at the organization as a whole and data integration allows for this. Integration of data also provides one source of truth for the different departments. While someone might track something on a spread sheet, in one department another person might be tracking the same thing on a different spreadsheet and getting different results, due to different definitions.
