The International Cyber Security Protection Alliance (ICSPA) establishes the underlying issues based on the aspect of security within the field of information technology to anticipate the future while developing effective measures necessary for the preparation and creating awareness. In this regard, there are various questions raised that require an intensive evaluation from the involved authoritative figures and stakeholders (Europol, n.d.). Some of these questions are; who owns the data systems? Who covers the losses? Who secures the connection between networks and services? Arguably, the most crucial question to answer moving forward is who is responsible for covering and recovering the loss in terms of data recovery and financial aspects. With such an understanding at hand, a reliable platform is created for the development of substantial solutions for cybersecurity. Moreover, the question is relatively crucial to address, considering that the most severe effects of cybercrime are the loss of an organization’s credibility as well as customers and the loss of money.
Due to the increased cyber-attacks, there is a high demand for insurance services. Some insurance plans allow the victim to recover the money and data that have been lost due to a breach. The policy holder can be compensated from the lost data through theft and fraud (Rudd et al., 2015 – Research Paper Writing Help Service). In addition, a forensic investigation might be conducted to determine the impact of the crime, while the lost income is compensated by the business interruption insurance policy. There is also another type of first-party insurance that compensates for the physical damages influenced by a cyber-attack. This form of insurance is known as data restoration and computer loss. Overall, various forms of insurance policies are implemented to cover the costs ranging from notification, litigation, and regulatory ones.
