BUS 517 Strayer University Initial Project Proposal Paper

You have been selected to be the Project Manager for a project of your choice. The project you decide to use must be one of a professional nature and must last for at least twelve months. In addition, the project should meet the key criteria of a project, such as:

1. Has a beginning and an end.

2. Results in something being delivered to someone.

3. Requires a series of activities that must be done to complete the project

4. Requires resources (e.g., people, materials) to complete the work. Note: You are prohibited from using projects that can be found on the Internet, including projects found in places like CourseHero.

Describe at least three key milestones and/or deliverables for your project. 5. Describe a high-level timeline that includes key tasks and deadlines. 6. SECOND PAPER

In the previous assignment, you defined key portions of your project. Now, it is time to develop a work breakdown structure (WBS) and project schedule for your project. Note: I need help writing my essay – research paper use your project from the previous assignment to complete this assignment.

This assignment requires you to:

1. Create a WBS for your project using the proper format (MS Word, MS Excel, Visio, or any other applicable format) to depict WBS graphically (see Figure 4.4 from Chapter 4 of your Project Management: The Managerial Process textbook). Alternatively, you may use a coded format using MS Word. (See Exhibit 4.1 – Coding the WBS from Chapter 4 of your Project Management: The Managerial Process textbook as an example. The example is in MS Project format, but the same could be done in MS Excel.)

2. Create a project schedule that lists all of the core activities, dates (start and finish), and resources to complete your project. While it is recommended that you use MS Project, you can use MS Excel to create your schedule. Your project schedule must contain at least 30 separate activities/tasks.

THIRD PAPER

Note: This is the third of three assignments which, as a whole, cover all aspects of the project life cycle relevant to your selected project. Now, it is time for you to discuss your project’s challenges (e.g., risks), performance management plan (e.g., earned value management), and proposed plan for closing the project when it is done.
