Creating your Ideal State
Introduction
Dictatorship refers to a system of governance in which the rights and interests of the civilians are trampled upon by the state. Under a dictatorial government, citizens do not have a voice, and any attempts of activism for change receive draconian responses such as the use of violence or unjustified deaths on the opposing group (Magstadt, 2017). However, after a difficult process of change which begins by ousting such a dictatorial regime, the need to introduce a more progressive method of governance is inevitable. The occurrence of dictatorship is a common phenomenon in most developing countries with unstable governance structures which allow such unlawful forms of governance to thrive (Serafino & Library of Congress, 2014: 2024 – Essay Writing Service. Custom Essay Services Cheap). Therefore, this essay considers Venezuela as the country of choice to demonstrate the ideal form of governance in a country following the ouster of a dictatorial regime.
Outline of parts
In particular, this paper focuses on addressing the local concerns of such a governance regime by choosing a democratic form of governance to address the problems in Venezuela. Additionally, the paper outlines the structure of governance by highlighting the branches of government and the role played by each arm. The third aspect will consider domestic and international affairs of the government by suggesting the international organizations which such a country may join to enhance its position in global politics. Besides, this analysis will explore the programs which the government may adopt to further the interests of its citizens such as socialization initiatives while explaining the economic structure for adoption.
Governing system and principles
The governance style for adoption in Venezuela which will correct the failing systems in the country is a democratic structure. Notably, the principles under a democratic system include a leadership which discharges its role under delegated authority from the citizens through laid down framework such as elections under the constitution (Magstadt, 2017). Besides, democracy consists of the arms of government like the judiciary, executive and the legislature which offer checks and balances to ensure that the authority delegated to the elected leaders is not abused (Magstadt, 2017). Functionally, the legislature makes laws; the executive will implement policies while the judiciary will be under an obligation to interpret laws in Venezuela.
Public good programs and citizen socialization
Notable public good programs will include having a comprehensive electoral system through which citizens are allowed to exercise their right to self-determination through periodically voting. An electoral program will ensure that Venezuela attains stability in its governance thereby offering an opportunity for growth of all essential sectors in the country (Serafino & Library of Congress, 2014: 2024 – Essay Writing Service. Custom Essay Services Cheap). Additionally, an educational program will aim to deliver free education to citizens without hindrance arising from the financial situation of members of the public. The objective of education is to sensitize citizens on their rights to avert any future cases on the dictatorship in Venezuela (Serafino & Library of Congress, 2014: 2024 – Essay Writing Service. Custom Essay Services Cheap). Therefore, socialization of citizens will be crucial towards the integration of the public in the leadership of the country. Moreover, programs which aim to facilitate the interests of citizens will create a sense of unity which is an integral requirement for the success of a democratic system of governance in Venezuela.
Economic structure
The economic structure for adoption in the new state will be free market-based. Under this structure, the government will seek to empower the vital areas of the economy by encouraging trade in the country. For instance, the use of free-market capitalism to facilitate trade will become relevant (Magstadt, 2017). Additionally, a free market economy will focus on creating institutional structures for commerce in the country such as widening the scope of the market. Besides, this system will encourage the members of the public who are the primary consumers to purchase goods and services. On another end, Venezuela will also use a free market economy to facilitate subsidies which will allow for export and import of goods into the country thereby building international trade partnerships (Magstadt, 2017). Therefore, an effective economic model such as the free market economy will facilitate the achievement of stability within the country hence allowing for achievement of a democratic governance structure in Venezuela.
International organizations
After the dictatorial regime, Venezuela will aim to join the United Nations through which the UN Security Council will check on the security concerns of the country in the international sphere. Moreover, becoming a member of the UN will allow Venezuela to forge essential international relations with other developed countries such as Britain and France through which benchmarking on democratization could be initiated (Serafino & Library of Congress, 2014: 2024 – Essay Writing Service. Custom Essay Services Cheap). On another end, Venezuela may consider joining the World Trade Organization as a key economic forum to facilitate international trade with other countries and organizations. For instance, the agreements under the WTO facilitate critical measures such as subsidies which could become relevant to Venezuela as it seeks to implement favorable rate for export and import into the country (Serafino & Library of Congress, 2014: 2024 – Essay Writing Service. Custom Essay Services Cheap). Therefore, Venezuela will seek seconding to join the organizations. Specifically, the UN requires a country to sign for its membership and to ratify such an agreement in the stipulated timeframe while the WTO permits for seconding by an existing member state as the basis for membership.
Combating terrorist threats
In combating threats from other countries, Venezuela will engage in diplomacy talks with the neighboring countries to address security concerns. Besides, diplomacy will stimulate the neighboring governments to take precautionary measures to eliminate security concerns in its boundaries which may pose a danger to the stability of Venezuela (Bacon, 2018: 2024 – Write My Essay For Me | Essay Writing Service For Your Papers Online). Domestically, Venezuela will impose restrictions on illegal activities by enacting legislation to facilitate the laid down security measures. Under this aspect of the legislation, the law will impose stringent penalties for any acts of insurgency within the country which could affect peace and stability (Bacon, 2018: 2024 – Write My Essay For Me | Essay Writing Service For Your Papers Online). Therefore, the use of diplomacy to counter external threats to the country and stringent punitive measures under the law for domestic threats will be effective in tackling the threat issues facing Venezuela. Specifically, the two methods will be effective by serving as a hindrance to the perpetrators who are locally based (Bacon, 2018: 2024 – Write My Essay For Me | Essay Writing Service For Your Papers Online). On the other end, diplomacy will help the countries to work together thereby marshaling the necessary support from one another to combat both internal and external threats to peaceful coexistence and security.
Conclusion
The end of dictatorship in Venezuela is likely to indicate the commencement of yet another long journey of democratization as the state aims to achieve stability. In particular, the attainment of stability will be a priority to the country in essential areas of the sector such as the economy, governance, and security. On another end, the country will also join reputable international organizations as a basis towards building a niche in the international arena. Notably, effective international relationships will be vital to Venezuela in the sense that the country will embark on trade partnerships and other diplomacy engagements which could lead to stability of the state in the long term. Therefore, the need to integrate the citizens into the governance of the country through the introduction of programs which cater for the interests of the public will be paramount to the success of the democratic governance in Venezuela.
