Nurses have developed many very successful health promotion practices, such as lymph edema therapy, diabetes education, pain management, dementia care and wellness coaching. The development of a new health promotion practice often requires assistance with funding, which can be obtained through the application for a Grant. The master’s prepared nurse must be competent in the grant writing process, to support the implementation of their innovative ideas.
Assignment Criteria:
For this assignment, develop a scholarly paper that includes the following criteria:
1. Abstract: State the need for the health care innovation, based upon information related to the health disparity, including information related to epidemiology.
2. Identify the intended goal(s) of the health care innovation, with a measurable objective(s)
3. Identify the tangibles or supplies that will be needed to develop and implement the innovation with the associated expenses, list budget as a table. (See APA manual for how to list a Table)
4. Include a timeframe for the project.
5. Write a page paper – Describe the nursing implications for the project in the summary.
6. The scholarly paper should be in narrative format, 4 to 5 pages excluding the title and reference page.
7. Include an introductory paragraph, purpose statement, and a conclusion.
8. Include level 1 and 2 headings to organize the paper.
9. Write the paper in third person, not first person (meaning do not use ‘we’ or ‘I’) and in a scholarly manner. To clarify: I, we, you, me, our may not be used. In addition, describing yourself as the researcher or the author should not be used.
10. Include a minimum of 3 professional peer-reviewed scholarly journal references to support the paper (review in Ulrich Periodical Directory) and be less than five (5) years old.
11. APA format is required (attention to spelling/grammar, a title page, a reference page, and in-text citations).
12. Submit the assignment to Turnitin prior to the final submission, review the originality report, and make any needed changes.
